2021 Locked down in Athens during COVID with time on my hands, I was looking for a project that would keep me productive and help make a difference. I knew of the Habibi Center through Camille, one of the teachers there and decided to volunteer. Initially I was expecting to just help with some support projects, but Steph encouraged me to take on a class and I have had a very rewarding experience helping a beginning student learn English. Everyone was incredibly supportive in helping me get started despite my lack of background in teaching. The more I learn about Habibi Center, the more impressed I am with the organization, but more importantly, the community of students and teachers that they have built.
