FATEMEH (AFGHANISTAN)

Hi! I’m Fatemeh. I’m 18 years old from Afghanistan. I was a student of Habibi Center for about 6 months. I couldn’t communicate with others because I couldn’t speak Greek or English fluently, that’s why I avoided talking to others, and I became a silent and isolated person. That’s not good! When my friends talked about the Habibi Center, I thought it was a school but it was a house! Yes, a house!! A house where teachers are the parents and students are the children. The first day I met Alex. I was happy to be able to go to Habibi Center and learn English and be able to connect with the community. After a while, I felt good that I could more or less do my own thing and participate in discussions (My self-confidence had risen). In Habibi Center, there are students with different nationalities, customs and languages but, we all spoke the same language and we followed the principle of humanity and equality. Habibi Center can be considered a small-scale global alliance. Finally, I thank my teachers Alex, Stephanie, Israe, Jake, Matthew. Wishing you all the best Habibi Center
