VOLUNTEERING FROM JANUARY 2026 TO MARCH 2026

This was my first time volunteering at the Habibi Center and I really had no idea of what I would find at this tiny school hidden away behind the market in the centre of Athens. What I found was a highly organised and conscientious organisation where the staff took the responsibility of educating the students very seriously. This was an organisation that really cared about the well-being of the students and had thought in great detail of their needs, offering games nights, careers nights, computer courses, exam preparation all within a safe and caring family environment. But for me, getting to know the students was the highlight of my experience. Polite, motivated, bright young people with so much to offer the world. It was a privilege to spend time with them and, I hope, move them forward one small step in their lives. I miss them to this day. Georgina
