Intern at Habibi Center

The Habibi Intern Program

The Habibi Center offers a wonderful opportunity for interns from diverse backgrounds to gain valuable experience. Our program allows interns to combine their academic knowledge with hands-on work experience with refugees. This provides them with a unique perspective on refugee issues. To support this, we have created the Habibi Center Internship program.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO INTER AT HABIBI?

Ariel

The University of Hong Kong

I am Ariel, a third-year medical student studying at the University of Hong Kong. The Enrichment Year program offered by the university provides us with the opportunity to explore the world and become a well-rounded, mature doctor. I was eager to step out of my comfort zone and learn beyond the boundaries of my home country. That's when I discovered Habibi Center, which offered me everything I wished for. I feel proud of myself for making such a life-changing decision.

Hugo

Engineering Company

I am Hugo and I work in an engineering office that specializes in energy issues. Last summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Habibi Center. I was interested in this project because of my previous experience in France where I helped teach IT lessons to children in an orphanage. My time at Habibi Center was a wonderful experience, which allowed me to explore the Greek culture and interact with the children while teaching them IT skills.

Julian

University of Amsterdam

My name is Julian, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in History and International Relations. I completed an internship at the Habibi Center, which provided me with valuable academic knowledge and practical experience related to refugee issues. I strongly believe in embracing diversity and bridging gaps between different cultures. By sharing the inspiring stories of resilient refugee children, I hope to contribute to a more positive future for Europe and its refugee population.

Sarah

University of Amsterdam

My name is Sarah and I completed an internship as part of my master's degree in Multilingualism and Dutch as a Second Language at the University of Amsterdam. The primary objective of the internship was to gain more experience in an organization that provides second language education. In addition to teaching English, I learned how to assess new students, support new teachers, and develop new teaching materials.
